The Cloud Proxy Service provides a simple way to manage Configuration Manager clients on the Internet. The service, which is deployed to Microsoft Azure and requires an Azure subscription, connects to your on-premises Configuration Manager infrastructure using a new role called the cloud proxy connector point. Once it’s completely deployed and configured, clients will be able to access on-premises Configuration Manager site system roles regardless of whether they’re connected to the internal private network or on the Internet.

Shavlik and ConfigMgr

Handling patches with SCCM is not always easy to deal with, especially with 3rd party applications. Microsoft doesn’t address the 3rd party applications at all and with the changes coming down in October, that world will be turned on its side again. How much time is spent by manually looking for updates, and manually packaging them with WSUS and SCCM? Shavlik Patch is a plug-in that lets you address your MS Applications, as well as your 3rd party applications without needing another administration console. Everything is done within SCCM using Shavlik Patch.

Once you’ve patched the OS and the applications, you still need to provide an effective report or dashboard that can be shared with others. IT performance and productivity reporting alone doesn’t reveal how IT supports business-critical initiatives, delivers service, and averts impact. What if you could have a dashboard solution allowing your employees to create critical IT reports without needing to grapple with cumbersome tools or needing to know how to build SQL queries? Xtraction has adapters available for LANDESK, Microsoft SCCM and Active Directory, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, SolarWinds, Cherwell and many others.

Members of Shavlik and Xtraction team will be on hand to show a technical demonstration of how patches for 3rd party applications are delivered with SCCM using Shavlik Patch and how reporting is made a breeze with Xtraction.
